Without a permit, we are required to stay on sidewalks.
The police put down my name, driver license # and address.
However, when I asked if I have any liability for others fault, the ploice said NO. Everybody abides by law for himself.

Mine is EB2, reached July 2nd at 7.55 AM Fedex received by Robin Williams at NSC and I got the check cashed and has receipt numbers but my I140 LUD is not changed. But my I-140 was already approved and it was not concurrent filling. So if its not concurrent filing then I think I140 LUD should not change or not related to 485 receipt notice? Am I right?

I applied my EAD renewal on June 19th and AP on August 1st. Both are approved today(august 20th). The Ead status is Card Production ordered.

Law clearly states employer cannot discriminate based on immigration status.
Walking dude has a point. I think we should take this up. We shouldn't be calling the employer and notifying them. We should notify the ad to appropriate authorities.

If Yes, i will really appreciate if you can contribute and help us in any way. This is an organisation run by people like me and you, who have full time jobs and have families also. If we all can take out some time out of our busy lives and try to help IV, then everyone will know about IV.
When we say we need to convince people, which is ridiculous, as i am 100% sure, everybody knows whats going on. We all are suffering and are here fort he long haul. If still people dont want to do anything, then no one can help us.

If the cause is right (we all know it is) then its a matter of delivering this message that will get people convinced. Lot of charities get donations. How? I think that is what we need to learn. I would not support this at all. Though it would clear the back log for the primary immigrant. What about the spouse and children. When you get your GC, dont you want to get it for your spouse and kids. Do you want them to keep in limbo for five years. It can be counted against family quota but should be given along with the primary. Otherwise its crap.

I just wanted to ask you a few question. The biotech firms employ a lot of people on H1b visas. How come none of them, excluding Genentech, is included in the compete america group's letter to the congress. I strongly feel and pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, other biotech companies should also be included to stand for the H1b visa and green card issue for their employees. Seccond question I would like to ask is about the provision to renew the H1b in increment of 3 years each after the 6th year, which apparently has been taken off in this new CIR bill. This is a very technical issue and employers would not want to loose the trained employees after the 6th year period. It does not make any sense to refuse renewability of the H1b after 6 years since by that time that employee has already become an asset to the company or this nation. Please make sure to stand for that particular issue. H1b should be renewable in increments of 3 years each if the GC has been filed by the 5th year. Let me thank you for successfully campaigning for increasing the H1b numbers and hopefully this will enable me to move from my present acadamic position (Ast Prof at XXXXXX) to an Industry. No pun intended here. But I was a fresher too at some point of time in my life!!!. Didn't mean to offended anyone. Anyway, I think this is a pointless discussion. Congress is going to do what they want to do. I just wanted to putforth my thoughts in my previous message.
Also, I would think I would benefit from any law they pass pertaining to EB.
I just dont understand the logic that If these "kids" get off the queue how will I get it. If the kids get out in a year i may have to wait another 2+ years to get a GC. I really dont see how having US degree in their hands helps. Let me take my example I was hired 3 years after college directly from my country from an multi-billion dollar market cap company from here. I quit that in 3 years and joined some other company that is a different thing.
And as far as studying here that is your problem if you want to spend money and study. As far as being helpful to US I have paid a lot more in terms of Taxes and other things than someone who has 3 years and mostly studied here on assitantships. And also being a hiring manager for the company have hired may US citizens as well.
Im not trying to create a division here. All I'm trying to say is that everyone needs to be helped not just only with Masters degrees.

As per the discussion's from other threads about LUD, it's been largerly agreed that there is no relavance between the LUD change/not change to one's 485 application. Hopes this will clear your doubt.

No. It is a good company and are very careful with things. I have never been in consulting. One good thing they did unlike other companies is they anticipated career growth and filed GC for a higher position and I could gladly accept promotion in my career.

I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your current situation. Please don't give up and consult other physicians. I personally know couple of people who were scared by the doctors about having a serious health condition but they totally recovered and are fine now. The doctors here just alert you about the worst that could happen to save themselves from being sued. So please don't lose hope and try other methods.
I am sure USCIS will consider your situation and your wife will get her GC without any problems. You just have to go in the right route. Contacting an attorney would be the way to go.
Our best wishes are with you!

a colleague of mine got this done last year. his case was like this. its eb2 to eb2...but
i think it wud be similar to eb3-eb2

old eb2 labor backlog approved - dec 2006

in april, he got appproval for 485, no RFE, card arrived direct in mail.

I have finally received my FP notice today for my I-485. My case was NSC-CSC-NSC. Never made any service request.
I have recently applied (paper based) for renewal of EAD and AP. Not sure if that triggered the FP notice.

During your conversation with mirage, did you explain to him why it would hurt our cause ? From our discussion in the group, it didn't seem he was aware why IV core was against it.
I think the threat of "ban" is out of place for mirage. Even if you ban his user id, he can pursue with his agenda irrespective of whether he is banned or not. IV core should educate mirage and other focus group leaders than threatening to ban them.
There have been so many divisive threads on this forum. IV admins never thought of banning such members.
He is a genuine member maybe not knowledgeable as IV core. Thats all.
